Healing chart

Tongue 4 Weeks
  • No oral contact of any kind for 6 weeks .
  • Suck on ice or popsicles the first 24-48 hours to minimize swelling and pain.
  • Reduce intake of warm beverages, hot or spicy foods, tobacco, alcohol and anything irritating to your mouth.
  • Rinse with mouthwash for 30-60 seconds after consumption of anything other than water.
  • Septum 4-8 Weeks
  • Alcohol can promote inflammation in people with septum piercing. It is best to avoid alcohol based drinks or at least keep it to a minimum for a speedier recovery. Avoiding use of facial care products containing alcohol can also be of help.
  • Do not use bacitracin or other ointments. (Ointments attempt to heal the skin & may slow oxygen transport to the tissue).
  • Eyebrow 6-8 Weeks
  • Never touch your piercing or jewelry with dirty hands.
  • Saturate a cotton ball with warm water, and gently wipe away any "crusties" that have gathered around the piercing site.
  • Apply a generous amount of liquid soap to your fingertip, and apply to the piercing site and jewelry.
  • Make sure you get the soap everywhere, but rotating the jewelry is not necessary as long as you work the soap around the piercing .
  • Dry your piercing with a clean paper towel and then dispose of it.
  • Earlobe 8-12 Weeks
  • Don't remove the starter earrings until your piercings have healed
  • Don't touch your ears often. Unnecessary handling of your piercings can lead to infection.
  • Be careful with items that could snag your earrings. Hats, scarves, and other items that may catch on your earrings should be worn with care
  • Monroe 12- 16 Weeks
  • The outer opening of the piercing is best treated using liquid antibacterial soap or Bactine.
  • Apply liberally with a cotton swab or Q-tip. Rotate the jewelry only after the area is moist and dry material has been loosened or removed.
  • Clean 2-3 times daily.
  • Nostril 12-36 Weeks
  • Do not remove the stud for 8 weeks.
  • Avoid touching the stud unnecessarily.
  • Nose piercings can close within hours, so never leave the piercing without jewelry.
  • The special nose stud is designed to be worn with the stem pointing up the nose.
  • Cartilage 12-36 Weeks
  • Don't remove the starter earrings until your piercings have healed
  • Don't touch your ears often. Unnecessary handling of your piercings can lead to infection.
  • Be careful with items that could snag your earrings. Hats, scarves, and other items that may catch on your earrings should be worn with care
  • Tragus 12-36 Weeks

  • Avoid touching the area as much as possible
  • Run hot water over it (the warm watter helps blood flow)

    Bridge

    10-12 Weeks
  • It is very important to keep in mind whether you have the time to let the bridge piercing heal or not.
  • You cannot get the piercing done one day and decide to take it off for office the next day. You need to be able to give it ample time to heal and not fidget with it.
  • If the piercing does not heal properly there are chances of it getting an infection which could be dangerous or could leave a scar on the face.
  • Navel

      Make a suction seal between cup and belly button by leaning over cup, then lie down on a towel, lie on your back, cup should be sealed to abdomen. Soak the area for at least 10 minutes. Rinse with plain water. Dry the area thoroughly after soaks.
    Female nipple  
  • Clean the area with salt water soaked cotton swabs or Q-tips. Soak the area for at least 10 minutes. Rinse with plain water. Dry the area thoroughly after soaks.
  • Surface

  • Avoid any materials that can grad onto your skin and piercing.
  • Male nipple

      Clean the area with salt water soaked cotton swabs or Q-tips. Soak the area for at least 10 minutes. Rinse with plain water. Dry the area thoroughly after soaks.
    For any exterior piercing

    A soak should be performed with a saline solution for 5-10 minutes,

    2-3 times a day, for the duration of the healing time outlined in the healing chart.

    Avoid using anything with a strong dye or perfume at or around the site of the piercing during the healing process.

    Saline Solution Recipe

  • 1/4 teaspoon hydrogen peroxide

  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt (Fine-grain) (non-iodized)

  • 8 oz. warm water
  •  

    (Do not alter the Saline recipe's proportion unless directed)

    Do not twist, spin or touch the piercing jewelry or site at any time with the exception of during or immediately
    after cleaning it. Don't change theinitial jewelry unless the piercing is fully healed.

    All piercings are subject to environmental factors. The length of time a piercing takes to heal depends on the individual's health, hygiene and overall execution of the care procedures outlined in this guide.

    For any exterior piercing a soak should be performed with a saline solution for
    5-10 minutes, 2-3 times a day, for the duration of the healing time outlined in the healing chart.

    Following the "care cuide" will insure a quick and safe healing .

    Rejection

    Not to be confused with migration is when the piercing expels itself from the body.
    The skin between both ends of the piercing become thinner until the jewelry finally expels completely from the body.
    If you notice this behavior occurring remove the piercing immediately or return to Tattoos by RC and we will remove it for you the piercing can later be re-pierced.
